NYHC ANNOUNCES MAUREEN FRIAR, NHC PRESIDENT & CEO, AS SPECIAL GUEST AT NOVEMBER ANNUAL MEETING
THE NYHC welcomes Maureen Friar, the new President & CEO of the National Housing Conference (NHC), as the special guest speaker at its annual meeting on November 9th. Maureen will be talking about the results of the midterm elections, their expected impact on federal affordable housing policies and steps NHC and NYHC can take together to move our agendas forward under a new Congress. Maureen will also share some of the changes she has implemented at NHC.
Mary Hanlon, NHC’s Vice President of Policy and Advocacy, will also be speaking and will provide additional details on housing legislation, the elections and expectations for the 112th Congress.

Maureen Friar succeeded Conrad Egan as president and CEO of the NHC in February 2010. Previously, she served as Executive Director of the Supportive Housing Network of New York for 14 years and as a marketing consultant to the National Equity Fund, and as a fundraising consultant to Community Access. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University, a Master’s degree from the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California at Berkeley, and was a Charles H. Revson Fellow on the Future of the City of New York at Columbia University.
In addition to our speaker, we will have a short program to update you on the latest news from NYHC. We have started to formulate our policy agenda for 2011 and would like to hear your recommendations on what should be included. Please come prepared to talk about the legislation, regulations and budget items that have the most impact on your business.
