The New York Housing Conference Announces Its Pre-Luncheon Symposium Schedule and Panelists

From 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., four special, on-site industry symposiums will precede the NYHC/NHC 37th Annual Awards Luncheon on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at the Hilton New York in Manhattan.

The informative symposiums will feature housing industry experts and will set the stage for one of the largest gatherings of housing professionals in the nation. They are free of charge to attendees at the Luncheon event, which is being underwritten by Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

This year's symposium program is:

Session I - 9am to 10am

TAX CREDIT MARKETS: What's Trending Now and How is the Industry Responding - Sponsored by Reznick Group, P.C.

Low-income Housing Tax Credit Investors and other experts will provide their insights into what is happening in the market place with deal structures, pricing, term sheets and underwriting challenges.

Action Alert: November 16

NYHC Urges Constituency to Urge Senators to Extend the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Exchange and New Markets Tax Credit Programs, and the Capitalization of the National Housing Trust Fund

The New York Housing Conference has mobilized its full board and its Young Leadership Council to support legislation before the Senate that would:

  • Extend a Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program that faciliates affordable housing development when private investment is insufficient.
  • Extend the New Markets Tax Credit Program at its current $5 billion authority level to attract private investment in community development activities in under-served communities.
  • Capitalize the National Housing Trust Fund at $1 billion with an additional $65 million in project-based vouchers to subsidize units developed by the NHTF.
