Carol Lamberg has been the Executive Director of the Settlement Housing Fund (SHF) since 1983. Ms. Lamberg joined the Settlement Housing Fund in 1975 as Associate Director. SHF has produced more than 8,700 apartments in 56 developments, retaining ownership through partnerships or affiliates of 44 completed buildings with 2,210 apartments in Brooklyn, the Bronx and Manhattan. Most of the developments that her organization owns are mixed-income buildings occupied by families whose incomes range from public assistance levels to middle-income. They often include community amenities and programs.
Prior to coming to Settlement Housing Fund, Ms. Lamberg was Vice-President of Roger Schafer Associates, a housing consulting group, and in that capacity worked for the Executive Council of the Episcopal Church, Knickerbocker Hospital and Settlement Housing Fund, among others.
Ms. Lamberg, an expert in conceptualizing new projects and programs inhousing legislation, has drafted amendments to the Housing Act of 1937, the National Housing Act and the New York State Private Housing Finance Law. She is the Regional Affiliate Representative for New York of the National Housing Conference and serves on the NHC Board of Governors. She also serves on the Board of Citizens Housing and Planning Council.
